Cotton is a natural fibre valued for its breathability, softness and durability. Comfortable across a wide range of climates, it is one of the most widely used fibres in clothing and can be woven into fabrics ranging from crisp poplin to soft jersey.

Chantilly lace is a fine, delicate lace characterised by detailed motifs worked over a fine net ground. It is generally lightweight, soft and relatively sheer, with floral and botanical motifs being particularly common. Compared with heavier guipure lace, Chantilly has a finer and more delicate appearance.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2016 by sisters Margaret and Katherine Kleveland, DÔEN draws heavily on vintage American and Californian references. The brand is known for romantic, feminine silhouettes, nostalgic prints, delicate details and an emphasis on natural fabrics. Its early identity was closely connected to a collective, female-led approach to the business and creative process.
