It is one of the most widely used animal leathers and can be processed into many different finishes, weights and textures, from smooth leather to suede and nubuck. The term cow skin refers to the animal hide itself, while leather indicates that the hide has been tanned and processed for use as a material.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2016 by sisters Margaret and Katherine Kleveland, DÔEN draws heavily on vintage American and Californian references.
