Taffeta is a smooth, crisp woven fabric with a firm hand and a characteristic subtle sheen. It holds folds and volume rather than falling closely against the body, giving garments a structured appearance. Compared with satin, taffeta is generally crisper and less fluid, while its surface can be similarly smooth and slightly lustrous.
